100 Post Special. Whistler's Wedding

If there was one thing everyone knew about Whistler it was that she loved the stars and all the endless possibility it held. So it shocked some people to get the news of her and Kevin's wedding.
Not her teammates thought they were excited and happy for their commanding officer's wedding. They were all so, very happy to spread the news of the wedding it would happen on February the 23d the month when Venus would be visible for the first time that year.
Three months before the seat date the news had spread to everyone from other starship captains, The Multi-kins the out of time cafe club and the team of warriors but most exciting was that every other Red Cloak Girl and their Guardians would not only be attending the wedding but also set it up.
Jean had volunteered to run most of it. Whistler had agreed mainly because Whistler had heard of the two weddings she did for the Multi-kins.
It took close to two months but finely Jean had everything she needed for the wedding everything but the dresses.
Whistler had chosen her sister Asher to be her maid of honor, Jenny her adoptive mother was going to give her away and walk her down the aisle, well Phil her adoptive father was going to be the preacher for the wedding. Whistler had also appointed her other female crewmates as the bridesmaid.
On January the 1st every female crewmate and Red Cloak Girl and Guardian, went shopping for the dresses, To no one's surprise, Whistler and Kevin had chosen a space-themed wedding so the color was purple blue and white.
Which was easy to find the bridesmaid all had a purple dress with white stars all over it each dress was different for each bridesmaid some had short sleeves well others had long, Same went for the skirts.
The actual Wedding dress was harder to find nothing matched what Whistler wanted, They looked all over different shops different countries and even different planets but still, no dress was what Whistler wanted.
It was late in the night when they got back. They all collapsed once in the Resort.
"It's late we should go to bed."
Whistler said from the chair she had collapsed in.
"I would but I can't get up."
Jean responded from the couch.
"Come on."
Meg said tiredly helped pulled Jean up.
The other followed closely behind. But at the last second, Candice stopped Whistler from following.
"Do you have a sketch of the dress..or something like that?"
Candice asked hesitantly.
Whistler thought for a moment.
"Yes, I sketched it out when I was a kid. It's upstairs in the attic. Come on."
Whistler led Candice up to the attic then into the far left corner where all of Whistler's old toys were.
They searched for a while till Whistler found an old leather notebook.
"Here it is."
She handed it, Candice, opened to the third page, where a sketch of a black dress with 7 different layers on the skirt. each layer had white stars all over it well the top of the dress was just black.
"I.....I could make this, it might not turn out exactly like this, but I could try."
"Please try that would be awesome!"
With that Whistler launched herself at Candice, pulling her into a crushing hug, of happiness and exhaustion. After a few minutes, they both headed to their rooms.

The wedding was less than one week away. Candice had held up her promise and Whistler now had her dream wedding dress.
Everything was ready all that was left was to actually set it up which they were going to do the day before the actual wedding. It was going to be held on the beach of California one of the R.C.G friends had a private beach and a two-story house on the beach that they were going to use.
Whistler was calmly watching the waves crash onto the rocks from her bedroom.
When someone knocked on her door, she calmly turned to face the door.
"Come in!"
Whistler waited but no one answered. Whistler walked over to the door and opened it but no one was there. She scanned the empty hallway but she didn't see anyone.
She did see a small package on the floor It was a red box with a black ribbon wrapped around it and a small piece of folded paper tucked under the ribbon.
Whistler picked the box up and went back into her room.
Once back in her room Whistler pulled the piece of paper out and unfolded it. Once unfolded Whistler saw that the only thing on the paper was the Red Cloak Girl's symbol.
If she was to guess she could probably guess who sent the gift. But she was getting ahead of her self.
She slid the ribbon off of the box then opened the box inside was a small bottle attached to a chain, Once out of the box Whistler could see it was a bracelet. The bottle held what looked like a swirling galaxy, on the bottle written in black sharpie was the words Memories.
Whistler smiled she would have to thank Jean later.
Whistler put the bracelet on, and that's when she noticed the small piece of paper in the box, that had been under the bracelet. Whistler picked it up and read it.

It was now the two days before the wedding Whistler and Kevin were walking on the beach watching the sunset.
"Only two more days."
"Nervous?"
"Yeah, but in a good way."
Whistler smiled.
"I know what you mean."
"Good, I was beginning to think I was going insane."
"Well, your not."
They fell into silents as they counted to walk.
"Do you remember the day we met?"
Kevin asked as they came to a stop.
"Of course I do, how could I forget?"
Whistler turned to look at Kevin.
"It was 7 months after I came to earth. Mom came home from of her adventures. But instead of a souvenir like a normal person, She brought you and your sister back. You two stayed with us for two months before you left to who knows were."
"That was the best day of my life. At least until our wedding."
They stood there for a few more minutes before Kevin broke the silents.
"I got you something."
Kevin pulled out a long white jewelry box. He handed it to Whistler. Who took it and gladly opened it.
Inside was a necklace with a single pendant of blue crystals.
"I love it."
"I knew you would."
Whistler kissed him before handing the necklace to him so he could help put it on.
Whistler didn't notice the gift tag that was attached to the box on it was written.

It was here, the wedding as less than a day away. Whistler stood on the beach looking at the aisle that she would be walking down soon. SHe could see it every chair filled with Kevin and her family and friends. Whistler was pulled out of her thoughts, by someone behind her yelling her name.
"Hey, Whistler!"
She turned around to see Jean running towards her.
"Hi, Jean."
"Hi, I need to tell you something, but no matter what you. can. not. freak. out."
"Ok?"
"You know that veil crown, we spent close to whole day looking for?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, it might have been broken."
Jean held up the black crown, at least the two pieces of the crown.
"What no it can't be broken the wedding is tomorrow!"
Whistler started pacing.
"Hey Whistler, you know that thing I told you not to do.Well, your doing."
Whistler ignored her as she counted to pace.
"Calm down, we'll figure this out, we can get the another one or something."
"It was one of a kind Jean!"
"Really? Huh, so that's out of the question."
Whistler stopped to stare at Jean.
"Remind me again why I let you plan the wedding?"
"I honestly have no idea. The two other weddings I planned got invaded by uninvited villains."
Whistler couldn't help but facepalm.
"What's up with her?"
Whistler looked up to see Lana standing next to Jean.
"Her crown broke."
Jean held up the two pieces of the crown.
"I hate when that happens. Have you tried magic to fix it?"
"Yeah, but it didn't work for some reason."
"Huh, well it's probably cursed than or something."
"Great the day before my wedding, not only is my veil crown broken it's cursed too!"
"Well if it helps I think you broke my eardrums."
Whistler shoots Jean a glare that could boil milk.
"Ok we, l I did my job by telling about the crown so now I'm going to go."
With that Jean left Handing the crown to Lana.
"Well, I guess it's just us then."
Lana put the pieces of the crown together, a few seconds later it glowed with white magic, the magic faded. Lana then gently moved her hands away but the crown fell apart anyway. Lana stared at it for a minute, before she tossed the pieces on a nearby table.
"Well, that didn't work."
"So it's hopeless, I don't have anything to hold my veil for tomorrow!?!"
"Well if your really that desperate you can borrow mine."
Lana removed the white crown with red gems in it, off her head and handed it to Whistler.
"Really?"
"Yeah, it's not one of my all-time favorites."
Whistler pulled Lana into a hug.
"Thank you, Thank you, you are the best!"
"I know."

                         The Next Day
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whistler stood in front of the mirror in her room. Everything was perfect, the dress was exactly what she had pictured, and it went perfectly with the borrowed crown, blue necklace, and new bracelet.
Whistler was brought out of her thoughts by someone knocking on the door.
Whistler turned to the door as she spoke.
"Come in."
Whistler's adoptive mother stepped in.
"My last kid finally getting married."
"Do you like the dress?"
"It's perfect."
Whistler hugged Jenny well she tried to hold back tears.
"I have something for you."
Jenny pulled away so she could pull a ring box and a letter from her pockets, which handed Whistler.
Whistler opened the box to see two black wedding rings.
"They were your grandparents."
"There beautiful...But why give them to me not one of my siblings?"
"Because they were YOUR grandparents, your mother gave them to me the same time, as the starship."
"The letter?"
"She asked me to give the letter and rings to you, on your wedding day."
Whistler nodded as she started to open the letter.
"Sorry I need to check on the cake and make sure no one steals it. I'll be back soon."
Whistler nodded as Jenny left. She then turned back to the letter.

Dear Daughter

I know you probably don't want to hear from me, but please hear me out just this once.
I and your father can't be there, but I know Jenny and Phil will take care of you.
Their good people that care about you.
But I hope that you use the rings.
They belonged to your grandparents the best thieves that ever stole from the stars,
so when their wedding came they could have any kind of ring they wanted
But your grandmother wanted a simple ring,
that way she knew your grandfather loved her and not her skills or her riches.
They stayed happily married until the day they died.
Something I wish for you and whoever won your heart.
So if you take anything away from this letter it's that,
It's the simple things that speak about the biggest love.

-Ceres

Whistler was crying by the end of the letter she knew Kevin wouldn't mind the sudden change in rings.
"Hey I don't mean to intrude, but its time to get this wedding on the road."
Jean said as she passed by Whistler's room.
"Hey Jean wait!"
Jean turned around and walked back Whistler's room.
"Yeah?"
"There's been a slight change in the plan."
"Ok?"
"I want to use these rings."
"Alright, that can be done."
Jean took the rings from Whistler and left. Just as Jenny entered.
"I'm back and not minute too late."
Whistler smiled as they left the room, this was the best day ever.

The wedding was beautiful and nothing went wrong it was a bit of a surprise when Kevin's sister showed up but she was welcomed.
Because the wedding was at sunset it was close to 10 o'clock when everyone gathered in the white tent.
they eat the galaxy cake and now the tent was filled with cheerful voices. Whistler and Kevin were sitting at their own table watching the happy faces of their guests.
The peaceful picture was interrupted by Jean and Daniel, pulling a bunch of people onto the dance floor as an upbeat love song started playing.
"Come on, the married couple needs to be out here enjoying the madness!"
Jean yelled as she pulled Whistler and Kevin onto the dance floor.
Once they were on the dance floor Jean disappeared back into the crowd, probably to drag more people onto the dance floor.
A few moments later the song changed to a slower pace love song, everyone found a partner even Jean was dancing.
In Whistler's opinion the song ended too soon, once the last note had played every clapped as Jean made her way to the DJ, who she told something to, then she turned to face the crowd.
"As traditional a father-daughter dance."
"May I have this dance?"
Whistler smiled and accepted Phil's outstretched hand.
They danced till the song was over.
After that everyone flooded the dance floor and danced their heart out. They danced well into the night and it wasn't until Whistler glanced at her watch did they relive that it was 4 clock in the morning. Evey one quickly said goodbye to the married couple as they threw rice at them.
Whistler and Kevin would spend the next three weeks driving all around American.
All in all, it was a pretty good day.

The End
